Belly Chose a Bob

Well, we did it. After three seasons of summers spent in Cousins, one called off wedding, and approximately 700 Taylor Swift needle drops, Belly Conklin finally chose a brother. She also got a bob! If you have not watched yet, stop reading now. We will be spoiling the entire thing.

The show’s finale found Belly in Paris where she fled after Conrad Fisher told her he loved her, leading her to break off her engagement with his brother Jeremiah. For the past few episodes, she has been busy building a pretty sweet life for herself — a very chic friend group, a cute non-Fisher boyfriend, and a confusingly nice apartment.

Of course, she couldn’t stay away from that damn family for long. Under the very thin guise of a conference in Brussels he seemingly never made it to, Conrad showed up at Belly’s doorstep, and she showed him around Paris while he stared at her yearningly. He then joined her at her birthday dinner, where they flirted with a palpable intensity, and they eventually ended up making out in the back of a cab before taking things back to her place, where Conrad told her he loves her (again). But Belly pulled away and sent him off to his train. Obviously, she changed her mind a few minutes later and sprinted to the station to declare her love to him in classic rom-com fashion. The two lived happily ever after, minus what will surely be some awkward Thanksgiving dinners in their future.

If you’ve been watching the same show as me, you probably could have guessed that this is where they were inevitably headed. But seeing these two crazy kids finally figure it out with each other was thrilling nonetheless, and The Summer I Turned Pretty fans clearly agree. Congrats, Team Conrad. We won.
