Looks like Derek Hough has brought home the ultimate Mirror Ball Trophy: a baby. In a joint Instagram post Monday, Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, shared that they welcomed their first child on December 29. The photo features two pairs of hands cradling a set of very tiny baby feet belonging to their newborn, whom they named Everley Capri Hough. “Every step of our lives has led us to you. Our hearts have been cracked wide open and our world is forever changed,” the couple wrote in the caption.
Hough, a Dancing With the Stars judge, and fellow dancer Erbert first met through Derek’s sister Julianne Hough, who hired Erbert as a back-up dancer for a joint tour in 2014. The following year, Erbert joined the cast of DWTS, and she and Hough began quietly dating. The couple wed in Monterey in August 2023 and announced they were pregnant last July via, you guessed it, a joint Instagram video featuring their sonogram photo strip.

Hough and Erbert have been candid about their fertility struggles, including a miscarriage they opened up about in October during Pregnancy Loss and Awareness Month. “A chapter of loss, love, celebration, heartbreak and everything in between,” they wrote in the caption. “Although we are so excited to be welcoming our rainbow soon, we honor our baby that never made it earthside.”
