Chrishell Stause Does Not Like Gwen Stefani’s Catholic Pivot

by thenowvibe_admin

Once one of the coolest people alive, Gwen Stefani is now hawking a Catholic prayer app on Instagram. Is this a byproduct of marrying Blake Shelton and moving to a ranch in Oklahoma? Or was there always a prim Catholic influencer hiding underneath the Harajuku getup? That’s between Stefani and her Almighty Father, but the rest of us are allowed to have our thoughts. For example, Selling Sunset’s Chrishell Stause doesn’t seem to love Stefani’s newly prominent religious bent.

Last week, Stefani posted a piece of sponsored content for the prayer app Hallow, in which she invited her followers to join her and “millions of others” on the app to pray every day of Advent (the lead-up to Christmas). “It is important this holiday season to spend time in prayer,” Stefani said. “That is what Christmas is all about.”

On Monday, influencer Matt Bernstein posted a video about Stefani’s spon-con, calling her out for promoting a “right-wing, anti-abortion pay-to-pray app.” Bernstein noted that Hallow has several anti-abortion prayers on its app, some of which are read by Lila Rose, an anti-abortion advocate who featured a conversion-therapy practitioner on her podcast earlier this year. According to Bernstein, Stefani also follows Rose on Instagram.

Enter Chrishell. In Bernstein’s Instagram comments, the reality star took a shot at Stefani using one of her most famous lyrics. “Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” Stause wrote, “Please take your own advice on this one🫠.” Stause, who is married to the nonbinary musician G Flip, is a vocal advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and clearly has no time for Stefani’s right-leaning pivot.

Chrishell might want to know that Stefani is not the only celeb who loves the Hallow app. It has long been promoted by famous Catholic Mark Wahlberg, as well as Chris Pratt, who is joining Stefani in lending some star power to the app this holiday season. Looks like Stause might need to come up with some more digs, maybe like: “Mark – the only thing that’s Departed is my respect!” I’ll keep workshopping.
