First people were mad at her nipples, and now they’re mad at her upcoming tour dates. Can’t Paris Jackson catch a break? On June 13, the singer took to Instagram to address fans who are upset that she’s scheduled to perform in Nashville alongside Incubus on June 25, the anniversary of her father Michael Jackson’s death. He died 16 years ago at age 50 after suffering from a heart attack caused by a drug overdose.
“So, people are mad again,” the 27-year-old said in a series of videos shared to her Instagram story, per “Page Six.” “One of the tour dates I’m supposed to be going out on tour with Incubus and Manchester Orchestra happens to be June 25, which is a very negative anniversary for me in my life and my family.”

She then explained that when you’re not headlining the show, “you don’t pick what date you perform nor do you pick how much time you have to perform or what time you go on stage to perform or what city you perform in.”
Jackson says her performance only includes herself, her acoustic guitar, and her sound guy, who happens to be her fiancé Justin Long — not to be confused with the actor — a music producer and sound engineer who previously worked with the band 5 Seconds of Summer. She says she pitched herself as an opening act to Incubus, a band she’s previously toured with, and didn’t think it was right to make a “big fuss about” the dates.
“This feels like [Incubus is] doing me a favor by bringing me out on tour,” she added. “So what, I’m gonna tell ’em, ‘Sorry, guys, we can’t perform on this date?’” She finished her message with a “fuck you” to her critics, and that was that.
