Anna Wintour Feels Great About the Met Gala’s New Sponsors

by thenowvibe_admin

Looks like Anna Wintour had a very special wedding gift in mind for newlyweds and aspiring fashion insiders Lauren Sánchez and Jeff Bezos: her stamp of approval. Last week, the Met’s Costume Institute announced its annual exhibit’s next theme as “Costume Art” and unveiled the 2026 Met Gala’s sponsors, which included the Sánchez-Bezos couple. The involvement of a tech billionaire who’s aligned himself with the Trump administration has ruffled feathers in the fashion community and beyond. But Wintour, who recently stepped down from her role as editor-in-chief of Vogue but will still helm the gala in her new global creative director role, is totally unbothered.

“I think Lauren is going to be a wonderful asset to the museum and to the event,” Wintour told CNN Monday when asked about the controversy. “I’m very grateful for her incredible generosity, and she’s a great lover of costume and obviously of fashion, so we’re thrilled she’s part of the night.”

Wintour’s praise should not come as a total surprise — Sánchez has been cultivating a cozy relationship with Vogue for a while. Shortly after Wintour announced her departure from the editor-in-chief role, Sánchez appeared on a digital Vogue cover in her Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress, and now it seems like we can expect more Sánchez-Bezos x Condé Nast collabs.

In the meantime, there is a pressing matter at hand: What will Bezos wear to the event? Will he borrow his buddy Mark Zuckerberg’s Benson Boone jumpsuit? Invest in a naked tux to capitalize on the year’s biggest trend? I predict he’ll keep it simple and go with a tasteful Amazon pocket square.
