Despite the fact that my cooking skills are amateur at best, my number one dream in life is to have a gorgeous, luxurious kitchen. There’s something about waking up early and making your morning cup of coffee in a pristine, well-decorated kitchen that just screams, “You have your life together.” When I picture this fabulous future, the kitchen I always imagine myself dancing around in (with jazz music in the background while something delicious simmers on the stove) is the one from Something’s Gotta Give. Nancy Meyers movies offer endless inspiration, so it’s no surprise that her influence has made its way into my daydreams as well. She’s known for her impeccable taste in design from her films, and the kitchen from Something’s Gotta Give isn’t the only one worthy of a Pinterest board. Here are 12 kitchens that fully embody the Nancy Meyers look.
1. If you want an all-white kitchen that still has lots of charm
Source: Harlowe James
If you spend any time on the internet, you know that all-white kitchens are widely despised on social media. They have a reputation for being the epitome of bland and boring, but that’s not always the case. With the right styling, a white kitchen can have just as much character as a maximalist one. This kitchen keeps it minimal in terms of color palette but brings in visual interest with the open shelves and countertop accessories. A woven rug, scalloped details in lamps and dishes, and small decorative accents make the space feel welcoming and lived-in, just like Nancy Meyers’ interiors.

2. If you dream of cooking in the kitchen from Something’s Gotta Give

Even something as stressful as cooking Thanksgiving dinner for your entire family seems like it would be picture-perfect if done in the Something’s Gotta Give kitchen. This kitchen isn’t an exact replica, but the stunning marble island is definitely Nancy Meyers-approved. The crisp white cabinetry, tile backsplash, and darker accents all channel the effortlessly elegant style of the film’s iconic kitchen. To balance out all the white, incorporate warm wood stools, a neutral runner, and wooden decorative accents for that classic Nancy Meyers feel.

3. If the cozy vibes are your favorite part of Nancy Meyers movies

If I were to describe the experience of watching a Nancy Meyers movie in one word, it would be cozy. No matter which film you’re streaming, they always feel like the ultimate nostalgic comfort watch. This kitchen encapsulates that same cozy magic with its light and airy feel. Simple but impactful decor choices—like a woven rug, a small lamp on the counter, and a wooden fruit bowl—make the space feel effortlessly beautiful.

4. If you prefer a subtle grandmillennial touch

Many of Nancy Meyers’ films incorporate grandmillennial design elements, and this kitchen channels the same look in a subtle, effortless way. Small details like floral tea towels, vintage-inspired paintings, and a sink skirt can transform a kitchen from a blank slate into something that feels charming and nostalgic. It’s proof that you don’t need to make any huge changes to channel the classic, cozy style that makes Nancy Meyers’ interiors so beloved.

5. If you want your kitchen to feel like it belongs in the English countryside

The cottage in The Holiday may be a bit more eclectic, but this kitchen—with its cozy, dark wood accents—has that same warm and inviting energy. Although it’s definitely more toned down than the maximalist charm of the movie’s cottage, the natural wood, layered textures, and vintage-inspired decor add that signature Nancy Meyers touch. You don’t need a gorgeous marble slab backsplash to recreate this look (though I do wish I had one). Instead, focus on smaller items to add depth and texture, like a vintage-style runner, wooden stools, framed artwork, and iron candleholders.

6. If you can’t stop rewatching It’s Complicated

Queen Meryl Streep has so many iconic movies, but I don’t think it’s possible for her to ever top the masterpiece that is It’s Complicated. The kitchen is an integral part of the movie, and I can definitely see shared qualities between this kitchen and the one from the film. The marble countertops and island, dark windowpanes, and black pendant lights all echo the look of Jane Adler’s dreamy Santa Barbara home. Though you don’t need big-ticket items to recreate this vibe—just bring in some darker colors with a runner, open shelving, and organic accents to channel the same aesthetic.

7. If you’re still in your coastal grandma era
Source: @palmandprep
The coastal grandma aesthetic took over social media a few years ago, but its influence is still going strong. Personally, I’m still completely obsessed with the laid-back, beachy vibe even in the middle of winter. Whether you actually live in a coastal area or not, this kitchen fits the aesthetic perfectly. A blue and white color scheme is key to the look, whether you establish it through paint, tile, or smaller decorative accents like vases and dishware. To fully embrace the coastal feel, incorporate woven or seagrass details that make it feel like you’re steps away from the ocean.

8. If Nick Parker is living your dream life
Source: @eyeforpretty
As a kid, I always thought Annie’s posh London life in The Parent Trap would be so fun to experience, but now that I’m older, I definitely think Hallie got the better deal. I mean, just the perk of the wine that comes with living in a vineyard is enough to convince me. This kitchen looks like it could be the heart of a Napa home, with its natural elements and relaxed ambiance. Dark wood cabinets paired with woven stools and stone vases bring an earthy, outdoorsy feel that Nick Parker would definitely love.

9. If you want to live in the house from Home Again
Source: @michelle_janeen
Home Again technically wasn’t written and directed by Nancy Meyers, but since it was produced by her and directed by her daughter, it’s safe to assume she had a hand in the to-die-for interiors. The house is known for its soft pink color scheme, and this kitchen fits in seamlessly with that aesthetic. A subtle pink rug anchors the space, while light wood tones and a white base keep it feeling fresh and airy. If you love the Home Again vibe, try incorporating muted pinks and wooden decor into your kitchen.

10. If you want a kitchen that feels as timeless as Nancy Meyers’s
Source: @briahammelinteriors
If you want a kitchen that will stand the test of time, Nancy Meyers’s own kitchen is the ultimate inspiration, and this space beautifully embodies that classic aesthetic. The open shelving offers just enough room to display a few carefully chosen pieces—like elegant glassware, timeless vases, and well-loved cookbooks—without feeling cluttered. The result is a kitchen that strikes the perfect balance between practical and beautiful.

11. If you love all the antiques in Nancy Meyers movies

Nancy Meyers kitchens always find the perfect balance between laid-back and intentional, and this one nails that mix. The combination of mixed metals makes it feel curated but not overly matchy-matchy, giving it a unique charm. Vintage-inspired details like an antique scale, decorative plates, and a ceramic rooster add a little bit of personality to the space. If you love thrifting, keep an eye out for unique kitchen accessories that bring that same collected, well-loved feel into your own home.

12. If you want your kitchen to feel classic and elegant
Source: @briahammelinteriors
Maybe I’m naive, but I truly believe cooking dinner every night would feel like less of a chore in a kitchen like this. The patterned cushions and woven counter stools add just the right amount of personality without overwhelming it. To complete the look, layer in a wood serving board, tea kettle, and other small accents to create a kitchen that feels effortlessly stylish yet cozy.
