Wendy Williams was out and about during New York Fashion Week. While the former talk-show host remains in her controversial guardianship, she was in high spirits as she attended multiple shows and presentations over the past few days.
First on the docket was the Bach Mai show on Sunday, where Williams posed for photos with Mai and CFDA CEO Steve Kolb. On Monday, Williams attended Dennis Basso’s preview alongside her friend Max Tucci, her niece Alex Finnie, and Finnie’s fiancé, Eric Houston. A source who attended the preview told “Page Six” that the vibe seemed good. “Everyone was excited to see her,” the insider said. “All these young people were taking pictures, and she was commenting on the clothes. She was in there!”
On Tuesday night, Williams made a splash sitting front row at LaQuan Smith’s show. In one TikTok, you can hear that she entered the venue to cheers. Dressed by Smith himself, Williams wore a large black-and-white fur coat and her signature high-top sneakers. Outside, she told TMZ that she felt “like a zillion dollars.”
This string of appearances comes amid Williams’s ongoing battle to be released from the guardianship she was placed under in 2022. In February, she reportedly signed an affidavit disputing her 2024 diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. “In terms of how I feel, health-wise, I feel fantastic. I’m not incapacitated,” Williams told TMZ’s Harvey Levin around the same time. Back in August, however, People reported that Williams completed a medical examination that upheld her previous diagnoses. She is still under a guardianship but is currently taking legal action to be released. In an encounter with “Page Six” while heading into a restaurant in August, she hit back at the diagnosis, asking a reporter, “Do I sound like I have dementia to you?”

“Her focus is she wants out. She wants an apartment in New York. She wants to be back in society. She wants to be able to go get bagels and lox, just the simple pleasures,” a source told “Page Six” in August, a few days after People reported the results of her medical examination. “She wants to go to Fashion Week!”
