At first glance, Travis Kelce and Julia Roberts don’t seem to have much in common. She’s an iconic Hollywood starlet; he’s a football player. She’s a five-time People magazine Most Beautiful Woman; he’s a three-time Super Bowl champion. But apparently, Kelce feels a certain kinship with Roberts. In an episode of his podcast New Heights on Wednesday, he and Jason Kelce said they’d recently watched Pretty Woman for the first time, and Travis found it surprisingly relatable.
In the segment where they reviewed the film, Travis and Jason struggled to determine what the 1990 rom-com’s “feminism score” should be. Travis suggested they would need to “flip the script” to see how a gender-swapped version of the movie might work. “I think we need to make Pretty Man, and we need to have a CEO billionaire woman be so high-class that she doesn’t know where she’s going, she doesn’t know how to drive a car,” Travis suggested.

A billionaire woman, you say? Jason was quick to suggest some inspiration. “Travis, you’re basically living Pretty Man right now,” he said. The brothers then riffed on Travis “living his own Julia Roberts” life, as Jason put it. “I’m wearing nothing but a tie when Taylor comes home,” Travis joked.
It’s nice to see yourself represented in the media, isn’t it? Last summer, Travis actually met Roberts in the Eras tour VIP tent in Dublin. Reflecting on their meeting, Travis said “it felt like we were the same person.” “She spoke to me in this movie,” he said.
Say what you will about reboots, but I kind of think Travis is onto something. Hollywood executives, please get to work on this. If not? Big mistake! Huge!
