‘Real Housewives’ Star Wendy Osefo Arrested for Fraud

by thenowvibe_admin

Real Housewives of Potomac star Wendy Osefo and her husband, Eddie, have been charged with felony insurance fraud for falsely reporting a home burglary, police say.

On Thursday, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said it had responded at the couple’s home in Finksburg, Maryland, in April after they claimed to have been robbed. The couple allegedly said they returned from vacation to find about 80 items — including jewelry, luxury goods, clothing, and shoes worth more than $200,000 in total — had been stolen from their home.

But according to the police, that wasn’t exactly true. Detectives apparently determined that over $20,000 worth of the items the Osefos said had been stolen were, in fact, returned to their places of purchase. They also said they found photos of one of the Osefos wearing jewelry they’d claimed had been nabbed in the robbery.

On Thursday, a grand jury indicted the Osefos on more than a dozen charges each, including felony insurance fraud and making a false statement to police. A search warrant was executed at their house, and the two were taken into custody. They each posted bond of $50,000 and were released on Friday.

The Osefos’ arrest comes just over a month after Wendy’s Real Housewives co-star, Karen Huger, was released from prison, where she served six months for a 2024 DUI.

The Cut has reached out to Wendy Osefo’s representatives and will update this post if we hear back.
