Earlier this week, Phoebe Gates debuted her new boyfriend, Chaz Flynn, on Instagram with a photo of them at a fancy-looking event. Until earlier this year, Gates was romantically involved with Arthur Donald, the grandson of Paul McCartney, but apparently since breaking up with him, she’s reunited with an old fling — according to People, Gates and Flynn were together back when they attended high school in Seattle circa 2021.
The caption was just a single red-heart emoji, which obviously means whatever is going on between them is romantic, and Gates’s comment section appears to confirm that. It’s filled with her friends’ approval, including a comment from Rupert Murdoch’s daughter. One comment in particular that was liked by Gates says, “Awww first love comes back again?” It sure does.

Gates spoke about her new(ish) relationship back in September during an episode of her podcast, The Burnouts, which she hosts with her Phia co-founder Sophia Kianni. “I’m dating a guy who literally doesn’t have Instagram,” Gates said, presumably referring to Flynn. “Like, he deletes it, and it’s amazing. It’s the best thing ever. And this is completely new for me. I’ve never been with someone like this.”
Although Gates tagged her new man on Instagram, it looks like his profile is set to private and has only around 4,500 followers. To influencers, this does in fact mean he “literally doesn’t have Instagram.” Congratulations to Gates on finding herself an offline boyfriend (again).
