It seems the only woman who can get Nicki Minaj to take a break from her feud with Cardi B is … Taylor Swift. After spending much of the week exchanging insults with her longstanding nemesis, at approximately 12:34 a.m., Minaj laid down her weapons to livetweet her reactions to Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. And, unlike the critics at The Guardian, she really loved it.
Over the course of 15 posts on X, Minaj relayed her obsession with — in no particular order — Swift’s lyricism, her love for Travis Kelce, her hidden “battle rapper” skills, and the “diabolical” track “Cancelled.” But most of all, it seems Minaj most identified with the song “Wood,” which is about Kelce’s, uh, manhood. She tweeted about it at least three times, writing around 1:00 a.m., “Oh Taylor #WOOD was EXACTLY what I needed tonight. Thank you.” When a commenter agreed the “Wood” lyrics suggested Swift knows “her man loves her down,” Minaj responded, “she luh dat D.”

I’m glad to hear that the healing powers of pop music have reached Nicki Minaj. Since sharing her thoughts, she’s been introduced to the Swiftie corner of X and appears to be having a lot of fun there. I guess Minaj is quickly learning that sometimes, all you really need to chill out is a Taylor Swift album on repeat and an oblique lyrical reference to a tight end’s huge dick.
