Looks like MomTok might survive this after all. On Monday night, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt made her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago, her first major theater role. While Leavitt’s relationship with her Mormon Wives co-stars has been touch and go since the show’s inception, it seems nearly all of the women were able to put aside their differences to support their friend: Layla Taylor, Mikayla Matthews, Miranda McWhorter, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Taylor Frankie Paul, and Jen Affleck were all on hand at the Ambassador Theatre to see Leavitt belting for the first time on the Great White Way. Leavitt’s husband, Conner, was also there, and, according to People, led a standing ovation for his wife.

Leavitt snagged the role of Roxie on the heels of a very successful run on Dancing With the Stars with Mark Ballas. The duo reached the semifinals but were voted off before they got a chance to touch the Mirrorball Trophy. Luckily, Leavitt auditioned for the stunt-casted Chicago shortly after, and the rest (eight Mormon reality-television stars rolling up to Broadway) is history.

The only cast member missing was Demi Engemann, last season’s villain and Leavitt’s ally as a fellow outcast of MomTok. But she did post a tribute to Leavitt on her Instagram Story. “Today’s the day!!!” she wrote over a photo of the women posing in a dressing room. “Break a leg Roxie Hart!!!”
I’m happy to see this cast getting along for a change. The only question that remains is whether they were doing shots of Dr Pepper at the after-party at Glass House Tavern.
