Miley Cyrus joined Beyoncé onstage on the Cowboy Carter tour Thursday night in Paris for their first live performance of “II Most Wanted.” Dressed in coordinating glittering gold outfits, the duo sang their ode to ride-or-die friendship to thousands of ecstatic French people.
Before launching into the duet, Beyoncé told Cyrus that she was “so grateful to watch you and to sing with you,” grabbing her hand and kissing her on the cheek.

“II Most Wanted” won the Grammy for Best Country Duo or Group Performance in 2024. In an interview with W last year, Cyrus said she had written the song more than two years earlier and it wound up on Cowboy Carter after Beyoncé reached out to her.

“I thought of it right away because it really encompasses our relationship,” Cyrus told the magazine. “I told her, ‘We don’t have to get country; we are country. We’ve been country. You know, between you being from Texas and me being from Tennessee, so much of us is going to be in this song.’”

In an Instagram post after the performance, Cyrus said that singing with “such a humble, gracious, legendary DIVA was a dream come true. Thank you for the opportunity to perform in Paris together & sing our song about friendship. To have learned from you & loved you my whole life, & then be standing together in matching gold looks is more than I could’ve imagined.”
