If there’s one thing Michelle Yeoh is wont to do, it’s play a million parts in something. The trailer for Sean Baker’s upcoming short film, Sandiwara (his first project since he won three Oscars for Anora), dropped today and it’s full of Yeoh. The film is set at a restaurant, and the teaser reveals that Yeoh’s playing: “The Critic,” “The Hawker,” “The Waitress,” “The Vlogger,” and “The Singer.” Of course, Yeoh playing all these women recalls her Oscar-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Here, though, she gets to interact with herself — the waitress picking up food orders from the hawker while the annoying vlogger sits down to eat. Each role has Yeoh in totally different looks; our favorite is the vlogger’s bright-pink hair, but the singer’s high glamour is hard to resist.

Baker developed Sandiwara, which is set in Penang, Malaysia, as part of the fashion brand Self-Portrait’s Residency program. Like Yeoh, Self-Portrait founder Hon Chang is Malaysian. The short will make its world premiere as part of the Berlinale’s special screenings on February 13 before becoming available everywhere February 20. Then we can watch it all at once.
