It appears that we have another Hollywood age gap relationship on our hands. Sharon Horgan, star and creator of the Apple TV+ show Bad Sisters, revealed that she’s dating someone nine years her junior during Monday’s episode of Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s podcast, Dinner With Friends. Is this the Tracee Ellis Ross effect in action?
After Ferguson mentioned his 10-year age gap with his husband, the Irish actress, who is 55, revealed that she’s also currently in a relationship with a younger man. “Well, it’s actually 9 years,” she said. “I said 10 years for a while and it freaked me out too much.” According to Horgan, she met and became friendly with the mystery man while they were working on a film together. “Then a good few years later — this wasn’t on purpose, by the way — I cast him in Bad Sisters,” she said. “Honestly, it wasn’t on purpose.”

The actress didn’t say who, exactly, her younger boyfriend was, but the Daily Mail appears to believe it’s Barry Ward. The actors played a married couple in the movie Dating Amber back in 2019, and Ward currently plays a detective in Bad Sisters. But who’s to say!
“It’s different when you’re my age,” Horgan continued. “Being single again at my age is kind of a whole thing. It just feels like so much fun just to meet someone who you can have a laugh with and connect with. It’s surprising.” Horgan was most recently romantically linked to The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess, and she shares two children with her ex-husband, Jeremy Rainbird.
