Kesha, Evan Rachel Wood, and Others React to Diddy Verdict

by thenowvibe_admin

On Wednesday, a Manhattan jury returned a mixed verdict in the trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs. The music mogul was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution but was acquitted of sex-trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. If he had been found guilty on all counts, he could have faced life in prison; now, he faces a maximum of 20 years.

In a statement after the verdict was announced, an attorney for Cassie Ventura, who testified during the trial, praised her for coming forward with her allegations, which were central to the case. “Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice,” her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, said.

“She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion,” Wigdor added. “This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.”

Here’s how other celebrities are responding to the news.

Aubrey O’Day

The former Danity Kane singer, who has accused Diddy of grooming and controlling her during her time in the group, reacted to the verdict with horror. In an Instagram Story, O’Day shared a video of herself watching the news, saying she felt “physically ill.”

“Cassie probably feels so horrible. I’m gonna vomit,” she said.

Kesha

The singer, who has publicly accused producer Dr. Luke of rape and become an advocate for victims of sexual violence, shared a message of support for Cassie on X.

Evan Rachel Wood

Like Kesha, Wood faced widespread scrutiny after claiming Marilyn Manson had abused her during their three-year relationship. On her Instagram Story shortly after the verdict, Wood shared a message about domestic violence. “There is no consent in a domestic violence relationship. Period,” Wood wrote. “Once the threat of violence is there, you comply. You do not consent. It is self preservation and survival. It is not freely or willingly given. It is forced and coerced out of you. We clearly have a long way to go in our understanding of this.”

Rosie O’Donnell

“I guess a jury just never wants to believe that a woman stays because of power and coercion,” O’Donnell wrote in an Instagram post, alongside a photo of MSNBC on her TV. “This decision got me angry.”
