J.Lo Brought Emme to George Clooney’s Opening Night

by thenowvibe_admin

What could be more fun for a 17-year-old than your mom taking you to her former co-worker’s play about Edward R. Murrow? Well, based on the photos of Jennifer Lopez and her kid Emme from last night, the answer would be absolutely nothing.

J.Lo and Emme were all smiles — and amazing outfits — at the opening-night red carpet for George Clooney’s Good Night, and Good Luck on Thursday. Based on their expressions, they were really hyped to watch Lopez’s Out of Sight co-star take Joseph McCarthy to task while modeling a jet-black dye job. It seems like they enjoyed it? Lopez posted twice from the event, which is a good sign. One was a carousel with her and Emme laughing and the next was two versions of the same sultry selfie, one in color and the other in black-and-white. An homage to the original film, perhaps?

Speaking of Clooney, he had to make an appearance on the carpet, too, of course. The actor and playwright looked sharp in a tuxedo but was notably without his wife, Amal. He told reporters that the human-rights lawyer couldn’t be there because “she’s with the kids.” Huh. Did he mean that she’s with them … backstage? Or did she skip Clooney’s big night because they couldn’t find a sitter? Kind of weird, right? Anyway, back to J.Lo.

Lopez and her well-dressed teen are becoming real fixtures of the Broadway community — last week they went to the opening night of Othello. Is this Lopez’s way of reminding the theater community that she’s one of them ahead of Kiss of the Spider Woman’s release? Maybe, but it’s clearly also something fun for her and Emme. That being said, these past two shows have both been serious masculine dramas. Let’s get some real theater-kid energy going. Lopez has already seen Oh, Mary!, but maybe she’d go again so Emme could see something funny for once. Or, if they’re really sticking to the whole opening-night thing, I would love to see them on the red carpet for Smash next week.
