After a spat with Carrie Coon on X back in March, it appears that Meghan McCain is now slut-shaming her White Lotus character, Laurie, for having a little fling and a walk of shame while on vacation. She just can’t stop having bad opinions, can she?
Their feud began on March 4 when McCain tweeted about crying during President Donald Trump’s address to Congress where he mentioned supporting cancer treatment. Coon responded, “Who’s gonna tell her?” and McCain shot back with a meme of Leslie Bibb’s Kate, a conservative character on this season of White Lotus. Then, when the next Sunday rolled around, McCain tweeted, “Can’t decide if I should still watch White Lotus tonight since one of the stars decided to tweet some nasty crap at me this week for liking Trump’s address to the nation. What do we think?” The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Although it’s been a month, Coon appears to have responded in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter. She touched on the viral scene where Kate comes out as a Trump supporter during dinner with Laurie and Michelle Monaghan’s Jaclyn. “I do think people like Meghan McCain and her community are really gratified to see a conservative person on television,” Coon said. “I have conservative people in my life who reached out to me to say that was an awesome conversation, because I don’t think it vilifies Kate.” Honestly, not a bad response — I’d even go as far to say that Coon took the high road. Seems like McCain, unsurprisingly, disagrees (Remember? Bad opinions!).

Let Laurie live!
McCain has obviously been watching the show since she mentioned very specific moments in Coon’s character’s storyline. Looks like we have a fan on our hands.
