There are so many reasons to be jealous of Dakota Johnson: the fact that she regularly gets 14 hours of sleep, her ability to put Ellen DeGeneres in her place (“That’s not the truth, Ellen!”), how green her kitchen is, her “love” for limes. Another thing that must be blissful: She had never heard of Alix Earle, the GRWM TikToker turned podcaster with over 7 million followers. In fact, she thinks Earle and Alex Cooper — two blonde podcasters with the same first name who are rumored to be feuding at the moment — are the same person.
While on a press tour promoting Celine Song’s new film, Materialists, Johnson stopped by Vanity Fair to take a “Lie Detector Test.” “Since you claim to not be online, let’s test if you know these online people,” the interviewer said, sliding over a photo of Earle.

“Is that … a person on a TV show? Oh, is it Call Her Daddy?” Johnson asks. The interviewer then shows her a photo of the actual “Call Her Daddy,” Cooper, and asks if she can identify her.

“Are they not the same person?” Johnson says, visibly confused. When the interviewer explains the situation, she asks, incredulously, “They’re both named Alex? And what are they … they both do podcasts?”
“Are they friends?” she continues. “Are they enemies? Is there beef? About their podcasts? Do they talk about the same things? What’s going on?”
Imagine having to explain to Madame Webb that not only do these women “do podcasts,” but they are in fact reportedly beefing over those podcasts. (In February, Variety reported that Cooper’s podcast network, Unwell, had dropped Earle’s Hot Mess podcast, prompting rumors of a disagreement.)
But you know who doesn’t think about any of this? Johnson, who is too busy making her hot co-stars kiss. May her mind always be this free.
