On November 4, Cardi B gave birth to her fourth child, her first with Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The rapper announced the arrival of their son with an extremely adorable Instagram photoshoot. While her child received custom Patriots merch, the rapper also decided to get a little something for herself: A golden cast of her umbilical cord, according to People.
Now, how exactly do we know what Cardi did with her organ? Mommy Made Encapsulation, a placenta encapsulation company based in California, posted a video on Instagram of them completing the service for the rapper, which consists of dehydrating the umbilical cord in the shape of a heart and then dipping it in gold chrome. “Turning something so meaningful into a piece that can be held, remembered, and cherished forever is one of the most special parts of what we do,” the caption reads. It’s unclear exactly what the purpose of this particular keepsake is, but it sure looks like it’d be a fabulous paperweight.

That’s not the only service the rapper received. Her placenta was also made into a print and grinded up into ingestible pills, according to another video posted by the company. Cardi is a repeat customer — the company also encapsulated her placenta after the birth of her third child, according to Instagram. Apparently, they’ve done this more than 40,000 times, including for celebrity clients like Vanessa Hudgens, Megan Fox, Chrissy Teigen, and a number of Bachelor franchise alumni.

In total, the rapper spent around $615 on the services: $500 on the encapsulation, $50 on the gold-dipped umbilical cord, and $65 on the placenta print, plus tax. The memories, though? Priceless.
