It’s been quite a week for Bill Belichick, Jordon Hudson, and their 48-year age gap. Though the two have been an item for a while now, their relationship entered the spotlight in a big way after Hudson, who’s 24, intervened in her 73-year-old boyfriend’s CBS interview on Sunday. Since then, the situation has spiraled, with Belichick and CBS issuing dueling statements and Belichick’s friends anonymously expressing their concern about the self-proclaimed “twin flames.” If you’re wondering how we got here, well, it’s complicated. Let’s break it all down.
February 2021: Belichick and Hudson cross paths for the first time on a flight from Boston to Florida, according to TMZ. At this point, Hudson was still in college, and the two apparently “bonded over a philosophy project the student-athlete had been working on.” TMZ’s sources say he autographed her “Deductive Logic” textbook and snapped a selfie with her before parting ways. They also reportedly swapped contact info and “remained friendly following the flight.”
January 2023: Nearly two years after their alleged in-flight meet-cute, Belichick and Hudson are spotted together in New Orleans.

January 1, 2025: The couple celebrates New Year’s together. In an Instagram Story, per USA Today, Hudson toasts “to our third midnights’ kiss” and their “fourth calendar year” together, suggesting they’ve been dating since at least 2023.
February 6, 2025: They attend the NFL Honors together, where Snoop Dogg takes a jab at the couple’s age gap in his opening monologue. “I mean, I remember back when the Cowboys was good, and I remember back when the Chiefs was bad,” he said. “And I remember … Bill Belichick’s girlfriend wasn’t even born yet.” Hudson’s jaw dropped before she switched to a polite laugh, while Belichick offered up something between a smile and a grimace.

April 29, 2025: Amid a whole lot of chatter about the interview, the New York Post reports that people close to Belichick have been “shaking their heads,” calling the relationship “alarming” and Hudson “a runaway train.”
The same day, Hudson took to Instagram to post a screenshot of an email Belichick seemingly sent to his team earlier this month about the promotional campaign for his book. In the email, he acknowledged that his media appearances could touch on “all the current events that don’t have anything to do with the book, but are most relevant to [the media’s] ‘ratings’ and their agenda.” Hudson set the post to Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do,” and in the caption, promised a full statement would be released soon.
April 30, 2025: Belichick releases a statement via his bosses at UNC, saying he’d told his book publicist he would “focus solely on the contents of the book” during press appearances, and “that expectation was not honored” by CBS. Belichick denied that Hudson was “deflecting,” but was “simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track.” He also denied that she “was attempting to control the conversation,” calling the claim “simply not true.” CBS volleyed back with its own statement, saying it had not agreed to any “preconditions or limitations” for the interview.
