Despite the tabloids’ long-running interest in Jennifer Aniston’s personal life, the actress hasn’t really publicly dated since she split from Justin Theroux in 2018. Now, she has a boyfriend for the first time in seven years, and he’s … a professional hypnotist named Jim? Hmmm.
Aniston, 56, was first spotted with Jim Curtis, age unknown, on a yacht off the coast of Mallorca alongside her buddies Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka in July. The two have since been photographed together at all kinds of Aniston-centric events: a launch for her new dry shampoo, a double date with Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid, this month’s season-four premiere of The Morning Show. Curtis seems to be happy to tag along on all of Aniston’s engagements. But what does he do?
The answer is not straightforward. Across his website, social-media accounts, LinkedIn page, and websites advertising his speaking engagements, Curtis is described as an entrepreneur, a master hypnotist, a passionate health advocate, a best-selling author, a hypnocoach, a student of human engagement, and a former executive at companies like WebMD and HealthCentral. He also now runs some kind of TikTok Shop management company aimed at “heart centered Entrepreneurs, Coaches and Wellness Pioneers” called UFACTORY. And he has written two books: The Stimulati Experience: 9 Skills for Getting Past Pain, Setbacks, and Trauma to Ignite Health and Happiness and Shift: Quantum Manifestation Guide: A Workbook for Coding a New Consciousness; Aniston included a photo of the latter in an Instagram carousel she posted back in May.
Aniston has also “liked” several of Curtis’s Instagram videos in which he explains to his 638,000 followers how to become “master manifesters” and improve their vibrations. Let’s take a closer look at one of them:

In it, Curtis instructs his followers to repeat a set of mantras: “My intuition is wiser than my fear. I release the voice that says I am not enough. Every choice I make brings me close to my truth. I am love, loving, and lovable.” His face and voice almost seem AI-generated, but we know he’s real because he seems to go everywhere with Aniston now. She also posted a photo of the back of his head in an Instagram carousel earlier this month.

Does Curtis make any money repeating mantras and helping random people on the internet manifest their dreams? Perhaps a little bit. On his website, jimcurtiscoaching.com, he offers courses on healing, empowerment, and manifestation for individuals looking for help working through anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, toxic dynamics, and “low self-worth and stuckness.”

“Through his signature, Hypno-Coaching approach, Jim guides you to uncover and release the subconscious blocks holding you back, rewire your inner programming, and awaken the truth of who you really are,” his website claims. Self-guided courses start at $188, and a live four-week Zoom class with Curtis will run you $1,111 (angel numbers!).
Aniston is not the first celebrity to date a guru with a knack for self-promotion. Alec Baldwin fell for his yoga teacher, Hillary Thomas, back in 2012 (and now she’s performing on Dancing With the Stars as Hilaria Baldwin). Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt was rumored to be dating the “holistic healer” Sat Hari Khalsa in 2019, and they founded a line of $2,300 cashmere button-downs called God’s True Cashmere in 2022. Former Real Housewife of New York Bethenny Frankel claims she dated Curtis a decade ago, and while she “didn’t really understand” his whole hypnocoaching deal, she thinks he’s a good match for Aniston.
“She’s an actual, true California girl, and while he is not a California guy, he vibes with that wellness talk, and it’s very Hollywood and very actor,” Frankel said on her podcast, Just B, earlier this month.
We can only hope that Aniston will one day participate in a Curtis-led hypnosis scheme that we can all buy into. Cheers to the happy couple!
