If there’s anything we know about veneers, it’s that getting them is not a decision to be taken lightly. A lot of people have said they regret getting the procedure, which can leave patients with lifelong dental issues in the quest for a perfect smile. And apparently, Alix Earle is among them.
In a TikTok posted Wednesday, Earle talked about her veneers for the first time, explaining that she regretted the decision pretty much immediately. Earle said she got the procedure done shortly after finishing college, when she’d started to make it big as an influencer. She said she’d always really liked her teeth but decided to get veneers on just her two lateral incisors because they were slightly shorter than her front two. Instead, she said her dentist suggested she get veneers on all six of her front top teeth and four on the bottom. “I don’t know why I listened to that, because originally that’s not what I wanted,” she said. “So I went in for two teeth and I basically left with ten.”

Speaking about the procedure, Earle got choked up. “I really regretted it, like right away,” she said. “I was like, ‘What did I just do? I had such good teeth, and now … I’m going to have to keep up with this for the rest of my life.’”
Apparently, the veneers have been giving Earle some problems lately — in the video, she said she had chipped one of them earlier that day while talking to Kate Hudson on the star-studded maiden voyage of the Ritz-Carlton’s new superyacht. Fortunately, Hudson was “so, so sweet” about it and reassured her it wasn’t that bad, and Earle was able to file it down afterward.
Earle said she hadn’t intended to be secretive about her veneers, but kept it to herself until now because she didn’t want to “influence people to do something that I don’t think they should do. It’s not that I ever tried to hide it,” she said. “Like, I never said, like, ‘Oh, I don’t have that.’ I just never came forward and said it because I really, really regretted it and I did not want to influence anyone to do it, because I don’t think that you should. I think natural teeth are so beautiful.”
“If you’re thinking of doing anything to your teeth, this is your sign to not do it and to embrace your natural teeth,” Earle added. “I think teeth have so much character, so yeah, don’t follow my lead on this one.”
