Travis Kelce may not have been in New York to celebrate Taylor Swift buying back her masters — he has been training in Boca Raton the past few weeks — but that doesn’t mean he’s not proud of his girlfriend.
On the most recent episode of his podcast, Kelce shouted-out Swift’s big acquisition. Shaquille O’Neal was the episode’s guest, and it turns out he’s a big-time Swiftie. At the end of the episode, right as things were wrapping up, Shaq pulled out his phone to play Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” and dance along. “That’s my favorite song in the world, brother,” the former NBA star told Kelce.

“Shout-out to Tay Tay,” Kelce said. “Just got that song back, too. Just bought all her music back, so it’s finally hers, man. I appreciate that, dog. Love you, big dog.” What’s better than two guys calling each other brother and big dog as they vibe out to Red-era Taylor Swift?

Earlier in the episode, Kelce asked Shaq (who is also a DJ) to “teach me your ways” in the booth. Shaq had no doubts that the Chiefs tight end would be a hit on the Eras Tour. “You know what’s crazy?” Shaq said. “You opening up with your girlfriend? Bro, you’d be a fucking star. Ten minutes hyping up the crowd, oh my God.” Kelce, a self-described “hype man,” agreed, saying that he’d “have the Swifties bouncing off the walls for tickets out there.”
So all is well in Tayvis Nation. Kelce, like the rest of us, is probably blasting Reputation and enjoying some guilt-free streams of “Better Than Revenge” (the sexist version). As for why he didn’t come up to New York to celebrate? Maybe he just doesn’t enjoy the vibe at Via Carota.
