Melania Picked a Bad Time for a Movie Night

by thenowvibe_admin

On Saturday night, just hours after federal immigration agents killed Alex Pretti in Minneapolis — and while people across the country prepared for a dangerous winter storm — the Trumps had their friends over to watch a movie. First Lady Melania Trump hosted a special screening of her upcoming documentary, Melania, at the White House alongside the film’s director, Brett Ratner (who has not directed a movie since being accused of sexual harassment and rape in 2017). Sounds like it was a really fun night.

According to a recap in The Hollywood Reporter, Melania welcomed around 70 guests to the black-tie event in the White House’s East Room. Attendees included Apple CEO Tim Cook, Queen Rania of Jordan, designer Adam Lippes, motivational speaker Tony Robbins (who schmoozed with Erika Kirk), Fiat heiress Azzi Agnelli, and noted fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Melania was funded by Amazon, so CEO Andy Jassy was in attendance, as well as Amazon Studios chief Mike Hopkins. Sadly, it seems like Mr. Bezos couldn’t make it.

While it doesn’t seem like there were any major Trump staffers or Cabinet members in attendance, Barron Trump did reportedly show up for his mom. The THR report makes no mention of Donald Trump’s presence, but in an Instagram Reel Melania posted the next day, you can glimpse his recognizable silhouette as he and Melania receive a standing ovation from the audience.

Those of us whose invitations got lost in the mail need not worry. Melania, which tracks 20 days in the First Lady’s life from Trump’s 2024 campaign up to inauguration, is opening in theaters this weekend. What would be more fun than getting your girls together, putting on your widest-brim hat, and watching 104 minutes of behind-the-scenes Melania? Unfortunately, you will have to make your own commemorative popcorn bucket.
