Paige Bueckers is having a really good year. In April, she led the University of Connecticut women’s basketball team to victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks, clinching the 2025 NCAA championship title. One week later, she was selected as the No. 1 pick by the Dallas Wings during the WNBA draft. And now, it looks like the 23-year-old is off the market: Over the weekend, Bueckers’s former UConn teammate and close friend Azzi Fudd seemingly confirmed speculation that the two are dating by posting a mirror photo of her phone case, which read, “Paige Bueckers’ Girlfriend.” As expected, both women’s fans were thrilled about the revelation.

While Bueckers and Fudd haven’t directly commented on their relationship status, plenty of TikTok users have deemed the photo sufficient evidence of a long-simmering fan theory. During the NCAA tournament, Bueckers and Fudd appeared inseparable, posting TikTok videos dancing in their hotel rooms and gushing over each other’s performances in interviews. While Fudd took home the Women’s Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player award, she chose to forgo the draft to play one final season with the Huskies. But Bueckers, who wound up the No. 1 pick, brought Fudd as her plus-one on draft night, kicking up rumors that things between them weren’t so platonic. Things intensified last month, when Fudd posted a TikTok video while out to lunch with Bueckers, writing: “Princess treatment every time I’m with her #spoiled.”

Fudd has also been spotted at a number of Bueckers’s Wings games, including Friday’s face-off against the Connecticut Sun, where she wore Bueckers’s No. 5 jersey while cheering her on from the crowd. On Sunday, Fudd sat courtside at the Wings’ game against the Washington Mystics, wearing a No. 8 Mystics jersey to support guard Georgia Amoore. Some fans apparently found the jersey switch up disloyal, but Fudd is a collegiate basketball player set to declare for next year’s draft: Of course she’s going to have more than one friend in the league.
