As if AI hasn’t already ruined enough, we can now apparently add Kim Kardashian’s law-school grades to the list. In a Vanity Fair lie-detector-test video on Monday, Kardashian revealed that she has a habit of using ChatGPT for studying law, and — huge surprise — it has often steered her wrong.
Speaking to Teyana Taylor, who conducted the interview, Kardashian — who completed her law program in May and took the bar exam two months later — said she has consulted ChatGPT for “legal advice.” “So when I am needing to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there,” she said. Kardashian didn’t respond to Taylor’s question about whether that constituted cheating but said it hasn’t exactly helped her excel. “They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests,” she said.

When that happens, though, you know who is there to pick her right back up? ChatGPT. Kardashian says she has taken out her frustrations on the AI chatbot. “I’ll get mad and I’ll yell at it and be like, ‘You made me fail! Why did you do this?’” she said. “It’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along.’” Probably not a great sign that AI is learning to gaslight Hollywood’s rich and powerful, but, hey, what do I know?
Kardashian may not be a full-fledged lawyer yet, but several of her future colleagues have gotten themselves in hot water for using ChatGPT on their cases. She’s expecting her bar results in a few days — let’s hope she didn’t use ChatGPT to study.
