Joe Exotic Got Married

I don’t know about you, but it’s been about 10,000 years since I’ve thought about Joe Exotic. But apparently the former Tiger King star, who’s spent the past five years in prison for hatching a murder-for-hire plot against his rival Carole Baskin, is still living large. On Monday, he gave us a big life update: He’s married!

Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, announced in a social-media post that he recently married one of his fellow inmates, Jorge Flores Maldonado. The early-pandemic Netflix star shared a seemingly photoshopped pic of himself and his new husband in front of a floral wedding arch in tuxedos and matching white hats.

“Never been more proud of someone,” he wrote. “Meet my husband Jorge Flores Maldonado.”

Exotic, who’s been serving his 21-year sentence in a federal prison in Fort Worth, Texas, announced his engagement in October, saying his “amazing” then-fiancé was 33 and from Mexico. “Now, the quest of getting married in prison and getting him asylum or we be leaving America when we both get out,” Exotic said at the time. “Either way, I wish I would have met him long ago.” Congrats to them, I guess!
