Influencer Delaney Rowe and B.J. Novak’s rumored age-gap relationship has given us a lot to think about. It’s been a couple of months since tabloids first started reporting that these two were dating, and now Rowe is giving us insight into what it’s really like to (maybe) be in a relationship with a 45-year-old frequenter of Ray’s Bar. She appeared on an episode of Boy Problems on Wednesday, June 11, where host Liz Plank flat out asked her, “Who are you dating? Are you happy?”
Rowe’s reaction was … interesting. “I’m not like, you know, the cuffs aren’t on, like I’m not like, fully boo’d up, but like, I am dating and it’s going okay,” said Rowe, who then rated her love life a measly six out of ten. “It’s a little dramatic right now. Up and down.”
“It’s not him, it’s me. I was the problem,” Rowe continued. “And I had to sort of reconcile with that recently. I was not sure, and so I sort of was noncommittal for a long period of time when he was like, very sure. And so now I am sure, and he’s like, ‘I don’t really trust your intentions at this point.’ And so now, I’ve sort of had to, you know, rap for my motherfucking life on this one and prove that I’m like —” Plank jumped in to ask, “Trustworthy?” And Rowe agreed.

“Not that there was any … there was no bad behavior,” she explained. “It was just me not quite ready, and now I am. So now I have to be like, you know, kind of bare my heart a little bit.”
Okay, so: Someone who is probably Novak wanted to commit when Rowe didn’t, and now that Rowe is ready to, he is giving mixed signals? There’s a lot to unpack here. I’m not going to fault Rowe — dating has been a total nightmare for quite some time, especially on the streets of New York. Maybe one day she’ll look back and write a TikTok skit about this whole chapter … I’ll be watching!
