It’s probably no surprise Rachel Zegler has a bodyguard. Since she was cast in Snow White in 2021, racist weirdos have basically made a full-time job of harassing her and picking apart her every move. She’s also gotten heat for her support for Palestine — a stance that reportedly prompted Snow White’s producer, Marc Platt, to fly across the country to chastise her and that his son, Jonah, claimed was the reason the movie flopped. (And not, say, the Spirit Halloween–ass wig they put her in despite a $240 million budget. Anyway!)
Now, Zegler is starring in a production of Evita at the London Palladium and is seemingly still dealing with this behavior. While greeting fans outside the stage door after a recent performance, Zegler had to defend her own bodyguard. In videos of the moment, which went viral over the weekend, Zegler appeared to step in to diffuse a tense interaction with a fan. “He’s protecting me,” Zegler told the fan, who can be heard arguing the bodyguard was “doing too much, no need to shove.”

It’s not clear what led to the interaction, but Zegler appeared to keep an impressively cool head as she dealt with it. “No, no, no — he works here, and he’s helping me, just because crowds are very, very intimidating,” Zegler said. She continued to try and placate the fan, who appears to respond that he didn’t mean any “harm.”
“I know babe, and I love you so much, but please don’t disrespect my Danny, okay?” Zegler said, gesturing to her bodyguard.
Fans are praising Zegler for her “grace and poise” in responding to the situation, saying she did “not have to be that kind.” “I’ve never seen a celeb gentle parent their fans for disrespecting their space,” one person commented on TikTok. And naturally, a bunch of people are thirsting after Zegler’s bodyguard now. “I don’t want to disrespect Danny, but I’d be down if Danny wanted to disrespect me,” one commenter wrote.
