E! News Has Been Canceled

Current ‘E! News’ hosts, Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester.

After 34 years on air, E! News is getting the axe. Deadline reports that Versant, the company that oversees E! as well as a number of former NBCUniversal cable networks, has canceled the nightly celebrity-news show amid restructuring.

The E! News digital brand will focus their resources on social platforms, so don’t worry — the GlamBOT will likely be on the red carpet next awards season. The fate of the correspondents, on the other hand, isn’t clear. The half-hour show is currently hosted by Keltie Knight and Justin Sylvester, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, some correspondents will go over to Versant, though their roles are TBD.

E! still airs original programming, like Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind and Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour. The network also recently announced upcoming series Kimora: Back in the Fab Lane and E!’s Dirty Rotten Scandals.

New episodes of E! News will resume on July 28, and the show will officially come to a close on September 25.
