Don’t Fall for These Fake Devil Wears Prada Posts

by thenowvibe_admin

Filming for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has begun, and the internet sure is excited. Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Italian stallion Stanley Tucci have all been photographed parading around Manhattan reprising their roles from the first film. But an upsetting trend appears to have popped up as production gets underway: Random social-media accounts have been posting fake sightings of celebrities seemingly on set for the movie, including Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, even Adele.

Now, would I be interested to see any of these celebrities guest-star in the sequel? Sure, why not. Bad Bunny would make a fabulous Emily 2.0. But so far, a lot of these posts appear to be fan accounts working overtime to drum up interest in the celebrity they’re deep in the fandom of. Fine! It’s not like anyone was going to X.com for the truth anyway.

Some of the images shared appear to be normal paparazzi shots, but I’ll be honest here — I did fall for this Dua Lipa one. The outfit she’s wearing looks like something Andy would wear during her outfit montage, and she’s being followed by people with cameras. Alas, she’s not filming. This is actually a photo of the pop star walking around with her ex-boyfriend Anwar Hadid and his mom, Yolanda, back in 2021.

One post involving Kendall Jenner almost had me fooled — again, the cameras in the background got me — except that all the alleged crew members are wearing buttoned-up winter coats in the middle of July. Apparently, this photo was taken in 2024 while Jenner was on set for a photo shoot in Paris.

Among all the fakes, there are some legitimate posts — this one of Streep, for example, wearing a brown leather belted pencil skirt, purple blouse, and Miranda’s signature icy-white hair, and this one of Hathaway with her journalist-coded messenger bag.

Until the movie comes out on May 1, 2026, let’s aim to keep our media-literacy skills sharp. I’m sick of getting my hopes up, especially over the prospect of Sarah Snook playing a magazine executive attempting another pivot to video.
