Denise Richards’s Ex Called the Police on Her

by thenowvibe_admin

For the past month, Denise Richards and her estranged husband Aaron Phypers have been locked in a contentious divorce, with Richards accusing her ex of physical abuse (allegations he denies). Over the weekend, things seem to have gotten more tense. According to People, Phypers called the police on Sunday after Richards showed up at the house where he’s currently living with his brother and parents.

Richards’s attorney, Brett Berman, told People that the reason for her visit was pet-related; she says she was there to “retrieve her dogs after learning that Mr. Phypers had put down one of her other dogs without her knowledge or permission.” An anonymous source close to Phypers denied this to the publication, calling it “100 percent, absolutely false.”

Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, and on July 17, Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers when, in a court filing, she accused him of physical abuse throughout their marriage. In a statement to People, Phypers denied the allegations. “Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone,” the statement read in part. Berman told People that Richards “did not violate a restraining order” on Sunday.

According to People’s report, Phypers left the house through a side door and, in the dispatch audio, reportedly told 911 operators that he “fears for his parents.” Ultimately, People says, no arrests were made.

The Cut has reached out to Richards’s reps for comment and will update this post if we hear back.
