Colleen Hoover Says She Was Diagnosed With Cancer

by thenowvibe_admin

Colleen Hoover is undergoing treatment for cancer, she shared in an Instagram Story Monday. The It Ends With Us author posted a selfie in a hospital gown, saying it was her “second to last day of radiation.” “I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on @texas.oncology but they’ve been great,” she added. “Hope you never need them, but highly recommend them.”

It’s unclear when Hoover was diagnosed, and she did not specify what type of cancer she has. In a Facebook post a few days earlier, she said she’d undergone genetic testing and said the results indicated her cancer “did not come from family genes” or from “the two main causes of the cancer, which are HPV and excessive hormones.” “This means it was more than likely environmental/lifestyle, which is lack of exercise, poor diet and stress,” she said. “I’m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate when I have to get off the couch. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right.” Hoover added, “If you see me at the gym, don’t even tell me good job. If you see me at a restaurant eating grilled chicken and drinking water, I’m probably real mad about it.”

Per People, Hoover first revealed her diagnosis in December in a post to her private Facebook group for fans. In the post, she said she’d had “recurring health issues” during the filming of her upcoming book-to-film adaptation, Reminders of Him, but that she put off dealing with it until the movie was completed. “When I returned home, I found out I had cancer,” she wrote. Hoover said she was doing “okay” after having surgery and that she’d soon undergo radiation. “Luckily I did not need chemo,” she added.
