Bethenny Frankel is taking to the sea. The former Real Housewife of New York City announced on Thursday that she’s moving to Florida, calling it her “healthiest life choice.”
In an Instagram video, Frankel said she was making the move “for personal and professional reasons,” explaining that “something has arisen that made this the best and healthiest decision for myself and my daughter.”
A source close to the reality star apparently told Us Weekly that the purpose of the move was “all about supporting” her daughter, 14-year-old Bryn. “The move reflects Bryn’s academic and athletic goals and was made with her physical and emotional well-being front and center,” the source said.
But don’t pour a parting glass of Skinnygirl Margarita quite yet — though Florida will become her primary residence, Frankel said she will keep her homes in New York City and the Hamptons “because we love New York.”
“I’ll let you know more soon, but this will be my backyard,” she said, flipping the camera to a shot of the ocean. Here’s to hoping the Sunshine State’s Chanel stores are more welcoming.
