It’s always hard to see a power couple break up, especially when they were really, really cool. Such is the case with Benito Skinner and Terrence O’Connor, who were kind of like Posh and Becks to anyone who got a Brat tattoo in the summer of 2024. Skinner, whom you may know as “Benny Drama” on Instagram or from his show, Overcompensating, announced on his podcast on Wednesday that he and O’Connor, the creative strategist behind Charli XCX and Lorde’s recent album rollouts, had broken up.
“We both just love each other so much and have so much love and respect for each other,” Skinner said of O’Connor. “And we treated each other with love and respect until the end.” The couple were together for nine years and recently attended Charli’s Italian wedding celebration together.
“If us breaking up makes you stop believing in love, I think it should be the opposite,” Skinner continued, addressing the fans who said the couple made them believe in love. “Because I was with someone so special to me for nine years, in a committed relationship with my best friend.”

It does seem as if everything ended on good terms as Skinner continued to gush about his former partner. “I feel so unbelievably lucky to have met him and be a part of his family. I love his family; I love the cousins,” he said. “So I hope that, if anything, you should believe in love, ’cause I really had it and I really feel so lucky to have met him and be around his genius.”
O’Connor has not yet addressed the breakup, but he has started experimenting with a beard, which maybe should have been a clue that some big changes were afoot.
As for how all of their famous mutual friends are handling it, we got a little insight from Skinner’s podcast co-host and Overcompensating co-star Mary Beth Barone. “I love you both so dearly, and thank you for parting ways on such good terms where it’s like we can really just ride for both of you into the sunset,” she said.
