Ahead of her new album coming out, Lorde has been opening up about everything from her birth-control journey to watching Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s sex tape. One thing she’s kept us in the dark about? Her feelings about former Dance Moms star and current pop girl Tate McRae. Until now, that is. In a new interview on Jake Shane’s podcast Therapuss, Lorde revealed she is a certified Tater Tot.
“You know who I love actually, who I think is so cool, is Tate McRae. I love her,” Lorde said when Shane asked who she’s been listening to lately. “She’s so cool. She’s so good. She’s incredible. I love her.” Lorde said she recently listened to McRae’s new album, So Close to What, and “I was like, ‘You’re so awesome.’”
She also praised the young singer for her dancing, joking that she finds it “quite rude” how talented she is. “I’m like, chill!” Lorde added.

Lorde said she and McRae have never met, but Shane assured her the feeling is mutual. And it sounds like McRae was pretty flattered — she shared a clip of the podcast on her Instagram Stories, along with a bunch of crying emojis, writing, “byee ilysm @lorde.” “Sports Car” remix featuring Lorde when?!
