Pete Davidson is finally ready to talk about his Big Dick Energy. On Wednesday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club,” the comedian opened up about feeling objectified during his time on Saturday Night Live owing to the excessive amount of attention paid to his romantic life. I mean, with a dating history like that, what’d he expect?
When asked how the BDE lore began, Davidson said, “I think it was, like, the New York Times or something, when I started dating someone that I guess they considered out of my league, which I think everyone is out of my league. But you know, they were like, ‘This guy must have Big Dick Energy.’ And then someone confirmed it.” Davidson appears to be alluding to his ex-fiancée, Ariana Grande, who tweeted in 2018 that he was packing ten inches.
He’s got a point — since then, the media has been fixated on his proximity to attractive famous women. Even Ted Cruz has weighed in. “I was embarrassed by it because no one — now it’s starting to change a little bit — but no one talked about any work I was doing; they were just like, ‘Oh, that’s the fuck stick,’ and that hurt so much,” he said. “The sexualization of me, if that was a girl … there would be a march for it. Seriously. You’re just talking about my dick all day.”

Even Kim Kardashian fell victim to the BDE discourse. During a 2022 episode of The Kardashians, she revealed that she asked an SNL producer for Davidson’s number because she “heard about this BDE” and “was just basically DTF.” To be fair, she’s also said she loved how “genuine” he was, but still — even with all of the seemingly positive attention from women, Davidson said he “got really tired of my whole career just being like my personal life.”
I’m glad that Davidson appears to have healed from this because in the very near future, he’ll welcome his first child with Elsie Hewitt. Maybe we can start saying Big Dad Energy instead?
